Hello all!

First - I'm sorry for my english.. )

I've got a problem with VBS 3.4. When I'm trying to add new user from main page (there is the big blue button - register new user) bugzilla offers me to write email of new user to send him a confirmation mail. I have wrote my email and no mail was posted to me. My VBS is configured like this: it has IP of my local network and ethernet adapter configured as bridge. From VMPlayer I can ping my local net and internet locations, so it works properly. I tryed to use email from another mail server (first was mail.ru, last was gmail.com) but I've got the same result... So I can't use bugzilla ))) Can you help me? I'm not a guru of *nix ((

Thanks, and sorry for language misstakes one more time) Hope you will understand me )

Ilya

VBS in VirtualBox and updating hard drive locations (sda to hda)

How can I change the locations that are searched for the hard disks? E.g. It's looking for "sda" but my disks are at the "hda" path.

Here are the details.

I'm attempting to install VBS3.4 in VirtualBox 3.1.6 OSE. I was able to add the VMDK hard disks provided to a new VirtualBox machine. I had an error on boot where the boot seemed to stall on the message "waiting for root file system".

I located a post that showed me how to change the root filesystem indicated in grub from "root=/dev/sda1" to "root=/dev/hda1" which fixed that issue and allowed the boot process to continue (see [http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/debian-26/waiting-for-root-file-system-kernel-ypgrade-452854/#post2295408]).

Now the problem I'm having is that it's not locating the userdata disk/partition. I am able to boot to a prompt and login. But there are a few error messages related to the missing userdata partition (mysql can't start etc).

So my question is, how can I update the locations of the userdata and swap partitions so that all of the partitions can be found during boot and initialization of VBS? I've been poking around in some of the config/boot scripts but haven't located the right spot yet.

Thanks for you help.

btruelove

VBS 3.4 sometimes not accessible after hibernation

Hello,

I use Virtual Bugzila 3.4 with VMware® player 3.0.1 build-227600. When I wake up my PC from hibernation I sometimes observe, that Bugzilla is not accessible (& pings from the VM to www.google.com remain unanswered), whereas my host PC exhibits a fully working network at this time. In order to resolve this problem, I always have to restart my PC then.

To make things clear:

Before I send my PC into hibernation I always first exit the WMware player, where the player is configured such a way, that VBS is powered off when I close the virtual machine. So I do not let my PC go into hibernation with the VM on (what might be a source for trouble).

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Hello everybody,

I use Virtual Bugzilla 3.4 with VMware® player 3.0.1 build-227600.

When booting up VBS, the sw waits ~35 sec while "Starting MTA:", before "Exim4" is written on the screen & before the boot process continues, i.e. during this time no further messages appear on the screen, as if the SW is waiting for something.

Is this normal behaviour and, if not, what can possibly be done to speed up the boot process at this point?

Thank you

PS: I just would like to express my thanks to the folks at almworks for providing the VBS!
