I'm Using 1.0.P2 build 1268.35, bugzilla 2.18 (through https) and java 1.4.2_04.
When I'm commenting an existing bug it gets Moved. Why is that?

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know about this problem! Please, provide more details:
- Where do you see that the bug is MOVED - in Deskzilla, in Bugzilla, in both?
- How do you add a comment - by editing a bug (F4, big edit form), or by "add comment" action (Ctrl-=, smaller form for just a comment) ?
- What happens if you add a comment, but do not upload it to the server immediately - is it already MOVED?
- What is the status of these bugs, are they open or closed? Open bugs should have empty resolution...
- Is your Bugzilla customized in any way?
- Do you use bug moving, are there any bugs with correct MOVED resolution?
I am sorry about this incident and hope that with your help we'll be able to quickly resolve it. Thanks!
Best regards,
Igor

1: It's in Bugzilla that I see the bug is MOVED. In Deskzilla we see the following error-message (why can't I copy this?):
"Bug update failed for bug # xx. Failed to update COMMENT. This meant we've attempted to update the bug on the Bugzilla-server, and Bugzilla didn't give any error [cut]"
2: I'm using the smaller form for just a comment.
3: It doesn't matter if I upload the comment immediately or synchronises using the commit-command. The bug gets moved both times. The comment is shown above the move-message.
4: I've seen the problem with CLOSED/FIXED, RESOLUTION/FIXED and OPEN/NEW bugs.
5: We've done some minor customization of bugzilla with regards to encoding of emails.
6: We don't use bug moving. We've earlier imported bugs from another (non bugzilla) system.
I hope you can use the above information to provide a resolution to the problem.
Regards,
Thomas

Thomas,
Thank you very much for the information. I'll have to walk through Bugzilla code to see how this may happen. This is really something weird.
May I ask for one more favor? Given the information you provided, I'd like to see the HTML source of the bug page. I will appreciate if you could open any bug in a browser (http://your.bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=any_bug_id), then save page as HTML and send to support@deskzilla.com . Feel free to remove from there any information you consider private; what I actually need is values for some fields in the bug update form. Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Igor

I've been able to reproduce this bug! See
http://bugs.deskzilla.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206
A fix will be available in Deskzilla 1.1.1 patch release. As a workaround you can turn off "move-enabled" parameter in Bugzilla configuration.
Thomas, thank you very much for submitting this issue - it is a critical one and we were not likely to find it soon since bug moving is a rarely used feature.
Best regards,
Igor

I've just disabled "move-enabled" in our bugzilla 2.18 installation and the problem is no longer present.
Thanks for the effort!
