Dear guys,
is it possible to deactivate the function, which always set the attachment as comment into a bug report?
because we're attaching a lot of files and something like this and it creates a big e-mail traffic and thats not so comfortable
and the users are crying about that.

So for instance, I create a new bug report with 6 attachments and I get one mail with the created report and 6 for the attachments, thats not so fine.

Is there a solution??

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,
Bo

Dear Bo,

Thanks for your feedback. I'm a bit lost at the description of the problem, sorry - could you please rephrase a bit? Please tell me, what are your actions, what is the observed result and what is the expected/desired result?

From what I can gather, you get too many emails - but to my knowledge, Bugzilla allows to add attachments one at a time, and that's what Deskzilla does - so each attachment generates an e-mail.

Kind regards,
Igor

Dear Igor,
thanks for your reply.
Ok, so I will try to explain the problem exactly:

Creating Bug directly from the Bugzilla system:
- When I create a bug in bugzilla (Web browser), attach a file and safe this entry, I get only one e.mail from bugzilla, including the information about the attachment and a link to this.

Creating Buug from Deskzilla:
- When I attach a file during the creating a new bug report and upload it after that, I get one mail for the new bug report and an other mail for the information, that there was added an attachment.

However, I'm getting always a seperate mail for every attachment and thats a problem for my collegues and for the acceptance of this system.
I understand, that when I comment an older bug, where I attach a file, that there will be created a new mail, but at the first time, I upload a new bug its very difficult to explain it to my collegues, why the system sends one mail for the new bug report and then for every attachment mellow.gif

I have seen, that the attachments are added under "Comment", is that why I'm getting a seperate mail??
Is it possible to reconfigure that manually?

Thanks a lot for your help & great support!

Dear Bo, thanks for the detailed explanation!

The reason for two e-mails is that first Deskzilla creates a new bug, and then adds an attachment in a separate upload. At the moment, there's no workaround for this, sorry.

I've posted an improvement request - http://jira.almworks.com/browse/DZO-948 - feel free to watch / vote for it to push the development of this improvement.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Igor

Dear Igor,
do you have any information for me, regarding the issue, that every attachment gets an own comment field in DeskZilla?

Thanks for your reply!

Cheers,
Bo

Dear Bo,

Unfortunately I don't have an update about this for you at this time. Deskzilla 3.0 is few weeks from being released; after that we'll have middle-term planning meeting where we figure out the general scope for a few coming versions. To make sure we keep DZO-948 in mind, I've marked it with Fix Version: 3.5 - that way we'll have it in our discussion scope.

Sorry I didn't have better news for you this time.

Kind regards,
Igor
