The company I work for is considering switching to bugzilla/deskzilla for it's bug tracking tool but I have a couple questions/comments.

1) It doesn't seem possible to assign a ticket to a group rather than a specific individual. I realize that we could create a group mailbox and query that but if we didn't have to that it would be nice.

2) I know deskzilla was just released but I noticed that the "description and comments" section doesn't sort properly. It sorts fine with the web client but not the desktop client. Just something to look into.

I have a major concern with purchasing deskzilla because v1.0 was just released this week, what kind of turn around are you guys generally looking at for bugs and enhancments?

Cheers,
Jay

Hello Jay,

Thank you for your interest in Deskzilla! As for your questions:

1. It's not possible to assign a ticket to a group -- that is the restriction of Bugzilla. Moreover, Bugzilla does not have a "group" notion regarding workflow. Bugzilla groups exist only for security purposes. Assigning bugs to bogus group account is a viable option. For example, we have account "team@deskzilla.com" that is the default for all new bugs.

2. Could you please provide more details about this sorting bug? Comments and description are sorted either in ascending or descending order, according to the user's setting. They are not sorted in the way they are shown in the comments tree, that's a feature smile.gif

Well, the release is only a couple of days old, and there are a few bugs reported - you can see all of them in our bug tracker, http://bugs.deskzilla.com . There are not many of them, if you ask me - our software has been available to public for quite a time already, and the 1.0 branch has been created a couple of weeks ago, with any development in the branch frozen - only bug-fixing is allowed.

Should you have any more questions, don't hesitate to post them here. If you have a sales request, please forward it to sales at deskzilla.com.

Best regards,
Igor
