Full Version: Support for time tracking

Deskzilla is very cool.

We've enabled the Bugzilla time tracking feature but these fields do not appear to be available in Deskzilla.

What would be really cool is if Deskzilla could help with the time tracking. So in addition to being able to type in the fields directly, a bug could have a "start timer" and "stop timer" button. The idea being that you hit the "start timer" button when you start working on a bug, then hit "stop" when done. Deskzilla could then fill in the fields appropriately.

Asking too much? :-)

Hi, and thanks for your kind words smile.gif

This is an interesting request - noone has asked for this before. I can tell you right away that we are certainly would like to implement this feature. This is just a sort of thing where a desktop solution may be leveraged.

The other question is when we can implement it. I think that not so many people do precise time tracking as you would like to do, most just fill in the hours worked after these hours have passed.

But the idea is fascinating, I'm adding it to our public tracker: http://bugs.deskzilla.com/show_bug.cgi?id=144

Should you have any other great ideas, please dump them here!
Thanks a lot smile.gif

I am also looking for this feature - including the buttons to support "Start/Stop/Pause".

Including pausing one timer if you switch to another bug and "Start" then automatically returning to the most recent active timer when that bug is stopped. Example:

- BUG #10 "Start" 10:30

- BUG #20 "Start" 10:45 (Bug #10 pauses automatically @10:45)

- BUG #20 "Stop" 11:00 (.25hours) (Bug #10 autmatically pops up and resumes at 11:00)

- BUG #10 "Stop" 12:00 (reports 1.25hours)

This is how our team ends up working. Sound about right?

Hello Guest,

Thanks for your thoughts. Sounds good. We may implement this just as you say. In fact we at ALM Works are not proponents of such precise time tracking, but people do show interest in such a feature, so we'll try to get it work for you soon.

Thanks again for feedback, write more! smile.gif

Best regards,
Igor
